Below are a list of frequently asked questions regarding this site and its operation.
Are you affiliated with Foster Folly News?
No. This site is owned by a private business located in Vernon, Florida. We only exchange banner ads and links with Foster Folly News.
What Happend To Some of The Polls?
We decided to remove all voting polls for candidates not "immediately" representing Washington County. The primary reason for removal is that we were getting hundreds of people signing up on the site that live outside of Washington County. So many in fact that now the system automatically grants/denies access based on the geolocation of any new registrant (see below).
Can Non-Washington County Residents Create An Account?
No. The system now uses geolocation technology when a new user attempts to register. If the system detects that the user is not located in the immediate area an account will not be created. Note: If you attempt to create an account using a cellular or proxy service the system may flag you as not being local and you will have to register using your home or office computer.
Can you tell me how many votes or visitors to the site there are?
No. We do not disclose this information to anyone. This site relies on sponsored advertisement to earn revenue. Not disclosing the number of voters or visitors encourages candidates, incumbents and voters to tell their friends to visit the site and vote, thus, driving even more traffic to the site.
Do you snoop on who is voting for who?
No. We only monitor people attempting to create duplicate accounts, run regular system maintenance, and create additions for the site.
When I log in I get the message that I have been banned. Why?
Per the terms of service displayed in the sign up form and in the Privacy policy, creating multiple accounts with different e-mail addresses is not permitted. Although not perfect, we do check daily and filter these people out. Many would be surprised at how often some candidates and incumbents try to manipulate the system (and no we won't tell you who they are).
Are there any future plans?
Yes. We are currently working on new features that will be incorporated into the site in upcoming months. The new features will ensure that the site will continue to grow daily. The ultimate goal will have a self-running site that is constantly being updated with content provided by its members.
